There's also the fact that, while I know most people seem to agree that minimalist boards are king, there are so many features that I personally feel -should- be on these boards that simply aren't (Such as dedicated volume controls, dedicated windows key lock button, RGB on more than a handful of models, and things like RealKey tech for reduced debounce times, etc) and when I consider these omissions, I just wonder how you guys can still consider them "the best." It doesn't seem like too large or difficult a list of extra features to request, and yet these companies couldn't be bothered to include them? (I know some do, but idk, I feel like this stuff should be standard, but that's definitely opinion based, I admit.)Īnyway, I am not here to flame these minimalist boards, quite the contrary. ![]() It's hard to gauge quality from looking at pictures of these boards that aren't terribly distinct from eachother, and without being able to hold them, and type on them etc, I also just have this instinctive assumption that they appear cheap flimsy things >_> (and I -KNOW- that's incorrect just based on the raw number of people that say the exact opposite.) Forgive me for that statement as I know it's probably blasphemy to say, but aside from the differences in layouts, like 60%'s, TKL's, Full-Sized, etc, they almost all just appear to have smallish bezels, are generally plastic cases, and are just small by design. I guess the problem I have however, is the simple fact that almost all of these "minimalist" keyboards that get so much attention here (Like Duckys, Filcos, Cooler Masters, pok3r's, etc etc) they all simply. ![]() So basically, all I have to go on is what I have looked up online, and the various reviews I've seen from people that have owned them. well lets just say I doubt there are any $7.00 "Test Ducky's" online I can order to really see and feel the quality in person XD When it comes to Ducky keyboards however. Thing is, if I want to choose a new mechanical switch, I can order a cherry switch tester online or go to a bestbuy and have hands on experience with them to make an informed decision. Forgive the somewhat cynical title if you don't mind XD
